• Instant Gratification with the Fuji Instax 7SPosted October 14th, 2009 At 12:06 pm By MTV ASIA

If you’re the sort of person who finds digital camera photos too mundane, but are too impatient for film prints, then I’ve got a happy median for you: the Fuji Instax Mini 7S. Featuring clear and crisp instant prints with vivid colors and a glossy finish, the Instax will fill the void in your heart left by demise of the Polaroid.

I recently went on holiday and took my Instax 7S in Chocolate (pictured above) with me plus about four film packs of ten exposures each. My friends and I had a great time snapping one-of-a-kind pics and watching them develop before our eyes. The experience was such a novelty that one of them — an ad agency art director at home with high-end professional digital cameras, decided to purchase an Instax for herself.

The Fuji Instax 7S series is a compact 5 inches by 5 inches in size, and comes in a variety of flavors — including Milk (sister to the Chocolate), Pink, and Blue. They have four shooting modes and come with built-in flash for low-light shooting. They work with Instax Mini films that come in packs of ten, and are so easy to use: just slide the film into the slot, turn on the camera by pulling out the lens housing, and you’re good to go!

The Instax Mini 7S is currently available in Asia and Europe and soon in North America, for about USD 100 for the camera and USD 20 for each pack of film containing ten exposures. Other than brick-and-mortar stores, EBAY would be a terrific place to score deals on starter kits that come with both the camera and film packs. Happy hunting!

I want one! The price isn’t so bad either. That’ll be great to bring around on outings and such.

plus, there’s something about instant film prints that make your complexion smoother and more even compared to digital camera pics — no need for PHOTOSHOP >:D
